Agent and tool setup guides
Pick the coding agent or developer tool you use. Each one works with FastMetal models once you set your FastMetal API key and base URL.
- MCP ServerFastMetal runs a remote MCP server, so any agent that speaks the Model Context Protocol can call FastMetal models as tools. There is nothing to install: point your agent at one URL and authenticate with the API key you already have.
- OctofriendOctofriend is a zero-telemetry coding assistant that works with OpenAI-compatible or Anthropic-compatible APIs. It enables mid-conversation model switching and has built-in auto-fix capabilities.
- HermesHermes is an autonomous coding agent from Nous Research. It works with any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, so FastMetal can be configured as its inference backend directly. Both a CLI and a TUI are included.
- Claude CodeClaude Code is Anthropic's official CLI for Claude. FastMetal provides native Anthropic API support, enabling seamless integration with Claude Code using any supported model.
- CrushCrush is a TUI (Terminal User Interface) coding assistant that works with any supported model. FastMetal is available as a native provider.
- OpencodeOpencode is a TUI coding assistant that works with any OpenAI-compatible API. Connect it to FastMetal to use any supported model.
- GitHub CopilotUse FastMetal models inside GitHub Copilot Chat in VS Code. Copilot's Custom Endpoint provider speaks the same OpenAI-compatible API as the FastMetal gateway, so no extra extension is needed.
- OpenClawOpenClaw is an AI development tool that works with OpenAI-compatible APIs. Configure it to use FastMetal for model access.
- Xcode IntelligenceFastMetal provides full compatibility with Xcode Intelligence, enabling context-aware code suggestions and completions directly within Xcode.
