Lolipop! AI Gateway is a managed gateway launched by GMO Pepabo on 25 August 2026. It puts models from 14 AI providers behind one API key, offers both OpenAI- and Anthropic-compatible endpoints, and prices everything in yen. The idea is close to ours.
Plenty overlaps: prepaid in yen, metered with no monthly fee, many providers on one key. The differences are payment methods, the modalities each can handle, catalog breadth, and how automatic routing picks a model.

When Lolipop! AI Gateway fits
- You already use Lolipop! or other GMO Pepabo services and want AI usage on the same vendor.
- Text generation is all you need. The published catalog is text-only; multimodal support is listed as planned.
- You prefer a fee stated up front: no markup on token rates, and 5% (plus tax) charged when you top up.
When FastMetal fits
- You want to prepay by Japanese bank transfer. Lolipop! AI Gateway does not accept it; FastMetal takes card or furikomi from ¥500 and issues a qualified invoice with the transfer details on it immediately.
- You want image and video generation on the same balance and the same key.
- You want to hand model choice to the gateway without pre-selecting candidates: FastMetal picks the cheapest model that covers the request.
